Look at what we have been up to! 2023-24
Times Tables Rockstars Day 2023
You might not believe it, but this is not the world's coolest rock band... This is Year 2! We had so much fun getting dressed up, but not forgetting how much fun it is learning our times tables! At the moment we are focusing on our 2, 5 and 10 times tables. We would love to practise at home, recalling some facts and playing some games!
Black History Month Workshop
'One Day Creative' visited us and we took part in some drama based workshops for Black History Month. Our workshop focused on the historical figure, Rosa Parkes and why we remember and celebrate her legacy today.
Museum of Liverpool and Ferry Trip 2023
We braved the elements and became tourists in our own city, Liverpool. The Museum was fantastic, we had a wonderful time learning about the many landmarks our city has to offer and studying a piece of art called the Cityscape by Ben Johnson. Then, we hopped on the very famous Ferry across the Mersey to take in the sights for ourselves. It may have been chilly, but the views were more than worth it!
Making wooden spoon puppets- DT Textiles
Our DT topic in Autumn term was textiles. We have practised our skills of joining fabrics by sewing! Our puppets were very festive and we designed them around our favourite Christmas characters- elves, snowmen, angels, reindeers and of course, Santa Clause himself!
Festive Fun!
We had the best time in the run up to Christmas! We performed a wonderful version of the Nativity called 'Hey Ewe' which all of our parents came to watch, we had a visit from Father Christmas himself who brought us all a gift! Not to mention a Christmas party, full of festive games and food! We also raised money for CAFOD by doing a sponsored Santa Dash! It is safe to say, loved celebrating Christmas in school this year!
First Aid Training
We were lucky enough to have some first aid training in school! We had a specialist come in and discuss what to do in case of an emergency and even show us how to perform CPR- here we are, practising on a teddy:
Superhero Day 2024
Our English work this half term was based around the book 'Traction Man' by Mini Grey. We have done some fantastic descriptions of characters, identified settings and defined new vocabulary. As a celebration of our work (and to have lots of fun) we dressed up as Superheroes! We have created superhero identities, designed our own mask and even made Thor themed biscuits!
