During this half term we have been getting ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day throughout Advent, saying prayers for others and preparing a crib for baby Jesus. We have listened to the Nativity story, focusing on how the Angel Gabriel shared the good news with Mary that she would have God's son and he would be called Jesus. Children have loved making angels and exploring the whole nativity story using our small world nativity as well as re-enacting the nativity and learning traditional hymns.

Our story focus this half term was 'The Gingerbread Man'. We enjoyed sequencing the story and re-enacting it with our friends using the story language we have learnt. We had lots of fun using dough and raisins to make gingerbread men as well as talking all about our feelings around events within the story. 

Our term ended with a very exciting visit from Father Christmas and a great Christmas party and disco with all our friends.
