Aspirations Week 2015
During aspiration week year 6 worked closely with Careers Connect and several employers to provide the children with ideas of the variety of jobs available. Within the sessions children learnt of the different skills need for a range of jobs. They also learnt that being focused and committed are vital for any job, if they want to succeed.
The children enjoyed playing a variety of games such as: stacking blocks, pin the tail on the donkey and buzz wire; the games demonstrated how focus and perseverance is key to achieve their goals just like they will be in their everyday lives.
Across the three days children had the opportunity to meet a variety of employers in which they could ask questions about their roles in their jobs.
This week has allowed many children to think carefully about their career choice and they have inspired many to aim for jobs that they hadn’t been thinking of before.
